Well Lebrun said on May 7th the Devils hope to have a coach hired in 7-10 days and they'd have a clearer picture at the end of the week which is probably Keefe getting fired and Berube becoming the top candidate for Toronto. So maybe the Devils hire Keefe/Woodcroft by the end of this week? I feel like it's a higher chance for Keefe at this point because you'd think Woodcroft would have been hired already if he was their #1 candidate but at the same time maybe they just wanted to cover all their bases and only just got the chance to interview Keefe now.

I’m good with Keefe or Woodcroft (would probably prefer Keefe). Berube over either one would be pretty disappointing at this point.

Some nhl channel host say keefe gets outcoached esp in a 7 game series. I think the results kinda prove them right

Well unfortunately the coaches doing the “out-coaching” are the ones who aren’t available for hiring so you do the best you can with your options and Keefe is up there.

While I do have my doubts about Keefe in the playoffs (the fact they so often start series poorly is worrisome), I don't think you can attribute their woes entirely, or even mostly, to him being outcoached when you look at the flaws they have on their roster.

Toronto’s had some bad playoff losses, like 2020 to Columbus or 2021 to Montreal, but I wouldn’t lump this in with those.
Something was wrong with Matthews, who missed 2 games, and Nylander, who missed 3.
Yeah, Matthews has been iffy in several playoffs, but these two guys scored 36% of their goals.
Their defense was f***ing brutal. Brodie played 78 regular season games, with the 2nd most ATOI after Reilly, and then played 1 playoff game.
Keefe was dead meat unless he took that team on a very unlikely playoff run. Treliving didn’t hire him and had a Lou-esque trigger finger with coach firing’s in Calgary. They’re stuck with the core four for another year so this was the one way to shake things up.
