Only one problem Brian, the ticket logo was NOT introduced in 1986

My gut feeling is the ticket logo was introduced around 1990 - certainly was not 1986 as NESN claims in the press kit

That ship has sailed - as long as ESPN ( and other networks ) use a ticker so will NESN.
But why.

It's 2019. No one at home, in a bar, wherever is going to wait for the ticker to scroll to check a score of a game.

It's one thing if they used it for real time stats exclusively, but to use it for scores is archaic.

ESPN is different, because it's not a regional network. People watching ESPN are either fans of whatever teams are on, or are random sports guy #1 watching MNF or a random college game.

It's just why...

Sure paper tickets aren't that common anymore, but brand identity matters, and the NESN "ticket" logo was borderline iconic at this point...

I mean, when was the last time you used a 3.5" disk (if ever). That's still the "save" icon for a lot of programs.

I cant remember the last time I watched NESN for something that wasn't a game telecast. The first episode of Behind the B maybe??? They should just show SlapChop infomercials all the time outside of game telecasts to be honest.

The new NESN logo reminds me of most modern Flat UI designs: monochrome and boring.
