Can they do any more to try and cover the Bruins less? They give us a half our show while the Beleskey and Hayes deals are being reported and don't even mention them, they just say blah blah blah about stuff that happened last week witch they probably hadent even covered until today so I'm guessing sometime in mid August they will realize there were roster moves today, no coverage at all that and the NHLN hasn't said a word about the Bruins CSNNE did a little but there has been very very poor coverage for today it's maddening the only way to get Bruins news is to refresh the Fa thread on here.

In fairness - NESN had a Sox game this afternoon and then all heck broke loose at 6 PM.

NESN does not have a real active newsroom like CSN does and CSN can fallback on NECN for live shots.

NESN is a joke, Blackhawks have talked about a Leafs TV concept, would love the Bruins to go this way. NESN is Red Sox TV anyway, well and Charlie Moore and infomercials.

Classic games, real sports center like show, Providence games and Bruins games. Says something that CSN has better Bruins coverage than a station the Bruins own a part of.

Can't expect anything but a thorough testicular cleansing from NESN on all things Bruins and Red Sox anyway, so we're not missing much.

You think NESN is bad when it comes to hockey/Bruins coverage, try reading the Nashua Telegraph. Nothing leading up to the draft or free agency.

NESN sucks

lol The information is old news that plays over and over. They come out with things that you read online hours or even a day before. I usually hear things and think "everybody has known that for a while now".

Most hockey coverage is like that. I was actually shocked to see more than one round of the NHL draft in this country. Times are a changing but they move slowly here.

NESN is very good with live coverage of game and pre and post games for both the Bruins and Red Sox. If either team is playing bad the talking heads will be candid.

I don't know why NESN cut ties with Peter Gammons.

NESN decided a long time ago if they can't at least break even on an event they will not cover it. They spend big money doing the New England Little League playoffs because it sells and Jack Edwards lives close by the field in Connecticut.

College hockey breaks even. Charlie Moore is a huge profit center for both parties.

CSN takes a different approach because just having the Celtics and Revolution rights alone can not justify a large monthly fee to cable outlets so they invested heavily in studio shows.

Even in Canada Free Agent Frenzy is a tough sell. National rights holder Sportsnet bailed after 2 hours yesterday to focus on Blue Jays/Red Sox and just let TSN cover the rest of the afternoon ( That is why coverage changed on NHL-US )

Those in red should be covered by WMUR in Manchester, but, NESN could cover a lot more than they do. IMO, the worst is NHL channel. Damn little original on there and, what there is, repeats every half-hour.

They'll never run anything on NESN plus that might take away viewers from the dumpster fire that is the Sox.

On the whole, NESN is an enormous disappointment.

Aside from their game coverage, they offer very, very little, IMO.

It's been said before, but the fact that they own the footage of every Bruins game over the past 30 years or so, as well as a ton of Red Sox footage as well, and they hardly utilize it, is a shame.

Why can't someone put together a "Top Twenty Bruins Goals" - "Top 10 Red Sox Pitching Performances", type of highlight show?

There's a million things they can do with that old footage, but they don't.

Kind of sad, IMO.

That would eat too much time into their infomercials.

CSNNE is the network of choice for me. I don't watch ESPN. NESN is getting close to the same treatment.

The worst part is all the horrible taped Sox programming where they tell you over and over what a great and classy organization they are.

NESN seems like they don't go in depth on hockey because they don't think their audience will get it. If we can have a discussion on twitter within minutes of the signing about what Beleskey's game is, what the comparable salaries are, why the value is there, why there's a statistical case to be made that last season wasn't a fluke, surely they can deliver something. At least let Sweeney make his case for the deals even if it's just on the conference call, which they said they'd have but didn't.

The conference call was delayed twice and by the time it started NESN was committed to show Sox In Two.

I can't recall NESN ever breaking a news story in its entire 31 year history.

Earlier this week, Dumb and Dumber had two or three innings of gigglefits over Remy's pronunciation of "Xander Bogaerts" and "Amica". Granted, it's baseball; there's a lot of dead time to fill, unlike hockey. Probably why I like hockey to begin with.

I'd bet Edwards could call a baseball game in his sleep, while Orsillo wouldn't be able to identify a single player by name on the ice.

Wonder when Fenway Park will have a Guerin Austin bobblehead night - although she seems to have less bobble than she did at the start of the B's season.
