It's not surprising when you consider the Women's Final Four is in a BASKETBALL arena, where all 19,000 seats are good.
while the Men's Final Four is in a FOOTBALL stadium, with 80,000 seats, a lot of which are really bad.
Football arena or not, $40 to get into the championship game is still pretty insane. Just being in the building for something like that is special.
You literally made me think "Hmm, that's 90 minutes away... I could go...." and explore it.
It's not much deeper than 4x the number of seats in the venue plus a men's Final Four that with 2 mid majors playing each other and only 1 traditional power out of the 4.
Not only that, its the traditional power with easily the smallest local and nationwide fanbase (UConn)
Same way a World Series between the DBacks and Rays will have much cheaper seats than one between the Dodgers and Yankees
I’ve been to two Final Fours…one at this stadium in the awful seats…You literally made me think "Hmm, that's 90 minutes away... I could go...." and explore it.

Well worth it for $40 just to say you’ve done it…
I’ve never done opening round in Dayton, but I’ve done every other round multiple times and they all have a different vibe to them (I assume partly associated with venue and proximity to the schools playing) so I’d still highly recommend a Final Four trip…I'd agree when it's not MY team. If my team was in the Final Four, I'd be paying A LOT MORE for good seats.
I'm also not a good litmus test because I've worked tons of NCAA Tournament games (none in the Final Four) so to me, the idea of paying $40 to be a mile away is not appealing for the experience, since I've sat at the scorers table, or been the guy handing out Final Four hats/shirts.
I bought the cheap seats for my team in the NCAA Tournament because I knew that half the arena would clear out after Texas Tech/Stephen F Austin finished.
