Gonna be awkward to explain why one of the Guardians died....

He didn't die, he just got teleported to another dimension, and it's up to the other Guardians to mount a rescue effort.

Or maybe he did die physically, but his life force was imbued in Joe Blow Fan at the All-Star Game and will lay dormant until the other Guardians can awaken him, at which point Joe Blow Fan becomes that Guardian.

Or maybe he had an apprentice or sidekick that will take up the mantle and continue to use that identity.

That's just a couple of examples of how comic books circumvent the deaths of popular characters. Or any characters, for that matter. It won't be an issue. I just don't understand what NBC has to gain from this...

Oh god - I thought this was dead on arrival. II was sure the NHL realized they laid an egg with the Guardian Project and just did the minimal effort to see it to completion. Really the chance of any successful stand 'Graphic Novels or Movie' opportunity are slim to none. They could maybe be used a Saturday morning cartoon, or like a modern day Peter Puck.

That's a more realistic idea of what will happen here. I seriously doubt they make a movie unless it's something straight to DVD.

Maybe a video game if they really want to stretch it.

I seem to recall reading an article written by someone who had attended Gary Bettmans 2011 SuperBowl party in NYC, where he admitted it was a "terrible mistake" to Chris Pronger, who'd brough along his famous Guacamole' Dip made from Kitten Hearts. Apparently Stan Lee, who was in attendance & overheard Garys' comment, threatened to unleash the Superhero's on the entire BOG's so...... here we are. :)

To me, it seems like they should try a web-graphic novel or web-series to see if this thing has any legs. Isn't DC (I think??) going web content-heavy with their whole series reboot? I would think that would be a fairly low-risk way to deal with the Guardians and then expand it if it finds an audience.
