As an Av's fan who has a leafs fan as a brother I have enjoyed all of the leaf beat downs and Av's praise this last while. But is this really necessary right now?

Mackinnon is the better overall player. Matthews is the better goal scorer. Matthews is not a finished product. I fully expect him to round out his game in the coming years the same way Mackinnon has the last 3-4 yrs.

Like not even remotely close. If there were to be a map to visualize the proximity of the players, Matthews would be somewhere in the southern hemisphere, maybe on a deserted island, thousands of kms away from MacKinnon's golden palace atop Mt. Denver.
