Thompson should not be an NHL at all. For any f***ing reason. The guy sucked here and he will continue to suck. The fact that he is here and can threaten any kind of younger and better player from playing is f***ing horrifying. People worry about the Jones signing, this one is more damaging considering the previous notions and actions of the coach when he was here. He will not only hurt this team, he will hurt the growth of better and more deserving younger players.

Funny thing is, I could say deserving younger players for basically everyone on the team since he's the oldest... Just remember, he was getting more TOI than Voracek in the playoffs...

Frost's last game was 2/10, Thompson was obtained on 2/24, two weeks later.

Which is pretty stupid because he was replaced with inferior players.

That is not the C depth of a playoff team, ESPECIALLY with Hayes coming off hip surgery and Thompson just stinks.

No he wasn't. Voracek averaged 18:09, Thompson averaged 13:08. Voracek played 272:17 total, Thompson played 210:11.

Voracek had more ice time than Thompson in every game expect the last round robin game against Tampa which he was rested for.

it bloody well better not be. It’s a young guys position to win. Earn it. The Flyers have not held any kid back. If they were other teams would have traded for them. Prospects are just that, no guarantees. For every Farabee there are several Rubstov’s.

The positions aren't theirs to win, either. We have seen this. They prove it, and get buried anyway. Or they get forever jerked around.

These positions belong to veterans and for the youth, they only serve as backups for if the veterans go down or suck so disastrously it can't be ignored. And then the team does their best to replace the veterans as fast as they can.

You think like Hextall. That development model has failed badly.

Except Bunnaman took a step backwards last season. He's an unknown right now.
Thompson is basically an upgrade over Andreoff.

He is, but there were better veteran forwards available. We also just got added a MUCH better PK forward in Atkinson.

You’re gonna fill out the bottom six with nine bodies during the year. The schedules have never been crazier than the last few seasons. It’s gonna be a mix of promising kids and known quantity veterans in those final spots.

I still think they need one more forward in the 1,5 Million range. Gonna check who Hayes played with in junior and other former MN players too to see who that could be. Fletch we all love every thing you do
