Can a columbus fan give us a breakdown of where is game is at for us leaf fans? We are looking for a bit more sandpaper/grit in the bottom 6, and the lines have been a game of musical chairs so if he can play both wing and centre it would be a bonus.

his game is currently in the trainer room for the next 6 weeks. But he has been solid for us in the playoffs. Not really a sandpaper kind of guy, though. But good shut down guy and will randomly throw in an important goal (in the playoffs, not the regular season).

He's a solid player, pretty good defensively, doesn't wow you with anything but will get the job done. Can play wing if needed. Wouldn't call him "physical" in the sense you might expect/be looking for for a "sandpaper/grit" bottom 6 guy, but he makes the right play more often than not.

One thing that I think is important to note that happened (in both of his years here) was he elevated his game in the playoffs. If anything, guys normally shrink in the playoffs compared to the regular season. He did the opposite. I think it's fair to say he played at a 3rd-line level at center in the playoffs each of the two years here, even though he's a 4th liner.

extremely solid 4th line defensive player. Good PKer. Smart. Wouldn’t say he’s gritty but he’s not a wuss either.

Appreciate the insight, sounds like he will improve our C depth nicely. Best of luck the rest of the way.

All defense 4C and PKer.

What he's actually good at is just shot suppression (for both teams). Nash has given up fewer goals/chances/shots/attempts than his team average in every single year of his 9 year career. That's a rare distinction. If Dubas actually wants him beyond the cap benefit, then that low-event ability is why.

He's the ultimate low-event player. Good positioning and good at passing the puck out of his end of the rink, but he's too slow to forecheck well or generate much offense.

He's wiry and doesn't hit, zero sandpaper. But in the playoffs he'll take a beating to make the right play, we've seen that in both playoff runs with Nash. He was especially good in the 2019 playoffs and was sorely missed when he was injured in the Boston series.

Add Marchand and Pastrnak and he's a 1C. :sarcasm:
