I like kihei's Blow by Blow which I consider a top 5 guitar album. I also like his Mick Taylor. Taylor and Richards is my favorite guitar combo. Good stuff.

Harder list, since I've heard fewer 70s albums than 80s...still no order
Let it Be - The Beatles
Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkel
Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
52nd Street - Billy Joel (just to be different - I think it's as good as The Stranger, but could go with either)
Paranoid - Black Sabbath
Carpenters - The Carpenters
Teaser and the Firecat - Cat Stevens (Tea for the Tillerman had my favorite song by him though)
Sundown - Gordon Lightfoot
You Don't Mess Around With Jim - Jim Croce
Hotel California - Eagles

Had to cut four...and this is despite giving up on most of the decade - lot of singles I love, not too many albums I'm familiar with, and most that I AM familiar with are hit-and-miss for me. So on the cutting room floor: Fly Like an Eagle - Steve Miller Band, The Grand Illusion - Styx, Led Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin, and Replicas - Gary Numan and Tubeway Army

Pretty brutal decade on the whole, but here's what I can come up with...

Harry Partch - Delusion of The Fury [Mitchell/Ensemble Of Unique Instruments]

Tangerine Dream - Zeit
Bernard Parmegiani - De Natura Sonorum
Vincent le Masne/Bertrand Porquet - Guitares Dérive
Popol Vuh - In Den Gärten Pharaos
Ştefan Niculescu - Ison I/Echos/Ison II [Ţăranu, Abramovici, Brâncuşi]
King Crimson - Red
Black Sabbath - Vol. 4
Johannes Brahms - 4 Symphonien [von Karajan/Berliner Philharmoniker]
