Tough building
It's like the famous Beckett play. He wasn't here yesterday, isn't here today, won't be here tomorrow. Nothing to be done.

Weird how Shero has said nothing.

Unless he has and I haven't seen it yet.

He hasn't. Starting to look a weeeee bit fishy methinks.

I agree, until Kovalchuk officially signs a contract with SKA, I wouldn't completely close the door on an NHL return this season. Shero might be really trying to convince Kovy, despite his alleged decision. Who knows, but I'd say there's like a 1% chance he comes back.

I think it's odd we haven't heard anything about what teams might have been offering for contracts or for trade.

90%+ chance he still comes back. No statement about a contract , no statement from shero, means the saga ain't over yet

A game of high stakes chicken?

I'm skeptical but who the hell knows when this guy is concerned.

I also think it's funny that only Gross and Larry Brooks have said he's signed and isn't coming back.

I believe he's not coming back, regardless of everything else.

Well I think it's obvious Larry got his info from Grossman since he's always been a Kovalchuk mouthpiece. Gross just said he confirmed the Brooks report, not that he got it FROM him. Maybe he talked to Grossman too, but you'd think they'd ask more than just the agent.

You guys are working yourselves again.

This has the feel of 'Gretzky and Lemieux are going to get the season uncanceled!' feel in 2004-05 when there were rumors to that effect a few days after Bettman's official season over presser.

This is like the slim chance the hot cheerleader will go out with you. I can't give up yet.

we remain the only club to be punished for cap circumvention.....

on a contract that was never approved.

Oh I get it

I just mean some posters on the main board just love seeing the franchise pay for the sins of the former administration when none of those people are even around anymore.

We're pretty much under entirely different management top to bottom so I feel like anything that happened under the old regime is in the past and should be viewed as such by anyone in the know.

Some of you need to make like Elsa and 'Let it go' already.

He's not coming back.

Gross I think (or TG) confirmed it was Grossman who said he isn't coming back.

Wouldn't the KHL be bragging about kovy returning if contract was signed ?

He doesn't have a signed contract in the KHL yet but that appears to be a formality. I assume now he has to pretend to sign with CSKA so he can get more out of SKA, or something like that.
