Why though? We have 3 2nd-round picks, I don't see the point of giving up 3 picks for an extra 3rd.

Original trade was a 4th, 3 5ths, 2 6ths and I 7th if I recall correctly

Wow, if only you guys saw the first proposal. It was something like two 4ths + two 5ths + 6th round picks.

That is just straight up one of the most ridiculous offers I've seen.

I don't see the point for the Oilers. If we do get a good player with any of those picks, they are likely 4-5 years away from making any impact, which is 4-5 years off McDavid and Drai's contract, so possibly nearing their career with us (hopefully not, but you never know), among others. I'd rather roll the dice with a 3rd from this draft, which might be quite high, too.

This is exactly right. No reason for Edmonton to make this trade or Montreal for that matter unless someone has fallen and they want to snap him up.
