Somehow all these threads turn into Bennett getting shit on by clueless fans that watch 1 or 2 flames games a year.

The Flames are not trading Bennett.

I rather the Flames pay for Bob instead of Price.

You cannot be serious...even the mighty Niemi gave up 6 goals in Edmonton. The Habs defence is weak most of the time and needs some upgrades for sure.
Look at the stats. Defensively they are fine, despite the blueliners being less than adequate.

makes 0 sense for Calgary, especially with Price at 9 million bucks for the duration

Add on Calgary is in no way going to move Valimaki.

Big pass.

Lol you’d rather stick with the goalie that let in the GWG five-hole from the blue line? Have fun going nowhere.

Price's contract?

Seriously, Price hasn't been much better. Smith's contract expires this year. Price's cap hit of 10.5 million is absurd and would totally handicap the Flames.

The Flames should give Rittich a chance and then try to pick up a stop vet who can make average saves. If they're willing to spend 10.5 million on a goalie, they should throw that money at Bobrovsky in the off season. They could get Bobrovsky on a cheaper contract than Price and he's playing much better than Price.

Even with multiple cap dumps, fitting Price's 10.5 contract would be impossible.

Frolik + Stone (a combined $8 mil) would have to be included, + other pieces of value to actually get Price. Flames need the capspace to re-sign Tkachuk this off-season as well. Can't just go gung-ho on a goalie when our best player needs a new big contract.

Adding Price this year would certainly help us. What happens in a few years when Price turns into Mike Smith from this year and we still have his cap hit? Carey Price had better be the league's best goalie for Calgary to justify that cap hit, and goalies aren't always known to translate across systems.

I could understand still being high on Valimaki, obviously. But Bennett? Really?

Bennett has been great this year if you watch him play. Not what he was expected sure, but he helps the team by playing his role.

Take out Smith too while your at it

Smith's cap hit would have to be gone to add another goalie. I understand nobody wants him.

I love these recent proposals where teams can be free of their horrible contracts (Seabrook, Price) while still acquiring young talent. It’s a good ol eastern bloc khl trade from Moscow to Minsk hahahaha

That’s only one side of the medal. What makes you think Montreal want to trade Price (other than the few bozos; there’s fans like this in every city anyway). We have as much willingness to trade Price as the Hawks have to trade Toews, or LA to trade Kopitar, or Anaheim to Getzlav or Pittsburgh to trade Crosby etc...

Montreal has something good going and the future is bright. We also happen to have 0 replacement in net if we ever dealt Price.

Paying goalies franchise player money is stupid. Goalies can be voodo and the differences/variation are not big enough to justify the big money. Basically, you're better off getting a good goalie at 6m than a so called franchise goalie at 10+.
