There are very, very few prehistoric films that try to be realistic with regards to language and social skills. The only one besides Quest for Fire that I know of is The Clan of the Cave Bear, also from the 80s. I've long wished that there were more, so I'm glad to see this thread. Maybe someone will name one that I'm not aware of.

Perfect example of a movie being so much worse than the book.

I still enjoyed it though thanks to Darryl. Wish they made a sequel about the valley of horses. :naughty:

HM, ok, but that isnt what i mean. Here the people talk with Shakespeare language skills. I mean, times, when people barely could talk.
Why do you think people couldn't speak in pre-historic times? You do know the definition of the word right? Clearly people didn't just learn to write and speak their language simultaneously.

There's no need to be belligerent. There are less rude ways to make your point.

Strike that middle sentence from my post if you like. As someone with more than a passing interest in the story of prehistoric humans I find it an odd take to want a movie about that period of human existence to reflect a time when people could "barely talk".
