Who do you think is the next most valuable Oiler going forward?

Consider age, contract, injury history, positional value, leadership, potential, etc... One way of thinking of it would be: in a trade to a neutral team, who would bring the greatest return?

Could be either of Perron, Yakupov or Draisaitl IMO. Close, but I personally went with Perron.

Voted Perron because if I was a GM, I'd go with proven track record over potential for the immediate future. By next year, this may mean I'll vote for Schultz or Yakupov here.

I think Perron gets you the most in a trade. Age isn't too bad, proven player just coming off a career year in his prime, plays a physical game with skill, sound 2-way, cap hit is great for what you are getting. The only negative is that you only have control of him for 2 years.

Pretty funny that none of the Yakupov supporters have said anything... until now.

I chose Yak, because I believe that he will bounce back and can be a 40 goal scorer at his peak.

My hope is Draisitl dethrones Yak and Ebs for #3 next year.

Course saying that it could mean those two have brutal years.. in Yaks case again.

So I'm changing my mind. Hope Yak de-thrones Ebs for #3 with an awesome year.

Course why not ask for the moon and hope there's a 5 way tie for #1 next year.

I say Yak.

To reframe this question:

Who would get us the MOST BACK in a trade (Literally the "Most Valuable"):

IMHO it's Yak, followed closely by LD.

In terms of "value" for a trade, I'd say probably Yakupov, although Perron and Nurse would be worth quite a bit.

Yakupov still has the potential to be a 40 goal scorer in the league, and there's not many players who can unleash a shot like him.

Is this trade value or on ice value? Last year's poll looks like on ice value, but we seem to be discussing it as trade value. For what its worth, trade value should be Yakupov, on ice value is Perron.

I like Yak, Schultz and Perron more the Scrivens, but if those guys struggle it will make it hard, if Scriven struggles (as the starter) the Oilers season will likely go a similar way to the beginning of last season.
