Who do you think is the next most valuable Oiler?

Consider age, contract, injury history, positional value, leadership, potential, etc... Ignore team need. One way of thinking of it would be: in a trade to a neutral team, who would bring the greatest return?

This will be like 80% RNH. I'm quite interested to see 4-12 however, to see how Klef/Eberle/Draisaitl/Nurse/Yakupov/Sekera/Talbot/Pouliot/Reinhart stack up.

Yea, that's when it'll get really interesting. I'll add Sekera then Reinhart then Schultz next unless anyone has objections.

In my opinion it should be:
Draisaitl
Nurse
Yakupov
Eberle
Klefbom

but damn that's close. I just feel like Yak will break out this year

I can't see any way Yak would have higher trade value than Eberle. Eberle is a proven 1st line player, where Yak is nothing but potential at this point. If they were traded right now, Eberle would fetch more. I hope Yak breaks out too, and I think it's likely he will, but people won't trade assets on that bet over the proven commodity.

Thanks for changing it around.

Only problem is....I'm still following the list from before pretty much to a T.

I think thing will take a turn when the first 3 or 4 are decided though. Could be a few good opinions on a few.

Eberle is under rated around here IMO.

Hell...his rookie card is even worth more than Hall's. The ones I have (Dunruss for both players), Hall was $7 and Ebs was $14.

That's gotta count for something....right?

:sarcasm:

I love that someone voted Yakipov! It'd be wonderful if he DID end up being the 3rd best player for us next season :D

Its ideally a few years away, but Nurse just oozes attributes that can combine to being the perfect athlete. Vicious, loyal, skilled and confident.

Hope he or McDavid become our captain one day, I think they've got the goods for it, pretty much guaranteed that they get an A and C between the two of them imo. Nuge is just a hair away from this for me, and I love me some Nuge.

At this point it's clearly between RNH and Eberle. Nurse, Yakupov, etc. are all unproven at the NHL level and would never bring back as much in return as those two. The question a team has to ask is do they want the proven offensive production of Eberle or less production but more well rounded RNH who plays in a more important position. This poll is probably right but I think around the league it would be a lot closer between the two.

Interesting that Nurse is currently second to Nuge in this poll.

Hopefully he earns that with his play!

Minor quibble, but shouldn't the * read "new to 2015-2016 Oilers roster"? With a similar change to the ^?

Nurse 2nd in this poll seems strange considering he's questionable to make the opening day roster. Hold this vote in 2 years and that might be legitimate
