Who do you think is the next most valuable Oiler going forward?

Consider age, contract, injury history, positional value, leadership, potential, etc... One way of thinking of it would be: in a trade to a neutral team, who would bring the greatest return?

Had a tough time choosing between Nikitin and Hendricks. Both are pretty deserving at this point.

I went with Nikitin, but the one thing Hendricks as a bottom 6 or 4th liner brings is leadership and the ability to spark the team. If Ference is 17 I really wouldn't have a problem with Hendricks who does a more on the ice.

Arco is who I went with. Hendricks and Nikitin are great choices as well.. Purcell I dont think will be much more valuable than Smyth was last year.

There are a lot of valuable Oilers this coming year which is great.

Is that factoring in contract or just on-ice ability? If it's just on-ice ability then that's a horrendous deal by MacT.

Seriously? Goodness I wish we'd taken that deal.

Meh. Buttercup is incredibly overrated and makes close to 3 million/year. The only thing holding Pitlick back from being an NHL regular is his health.

Oh - went with Arco. I get the feeling he's going to have a chip on his shoulder this year and put up 40-50 points while doing much more away from the puck than Gagner ever did.

Arcobello will likely be the best player for the Oilers this season out of that remaining group... so my vote is for him... but again the player I wouldn't trade away is Yakimov.

Nikitin and Purcell both have huge contracts so the return for them both would likely be negative if anything (eating salary to move them type of thing).

Arcobello has a tiny contract and decent potential... I'm sure he'd return at least a middling pick based on his potential and what he's shown so far in the AHL.

Yakimov would have to return a 2nd round pick at the very least for a trade to be made... and again no way I'd make that trade considering his potential upside is huge right now.
