Who is the next most valuable Oiler?

Consider age, contract, injury history, positional value, leadership, potential, etc... Ignore team need. One way of thinking of it would be: in a trade to a neutral team, who would bring the greatest return?

Is there anyone left that would even bring a 3rd round pick? Half these guys would pass thru waivers...

meh.. I'll take 5-10 less points from Hendricks for all the intangibles he brings.

McLellan will love Hendricks.

5-10 seems on the low end. If Korpikoski bounces back to being a 19-21-40 guy (I think there's a decent chance it happens), he's got a lot more trade value. And I say that as a huge fan of Hendricks

Dillion Simpson is a quality prospect. He ended the year playing top pairing in OKC after a very successful college career. I think he's underrated by a ton if he isn't getting votes here.

40 points is hugely optimistic, i'd be very happy if he's around 25-30.

I vote Gryba. He adds muscle to this team of marshmallows. He isn't afraid to drop the gloves.

Pakarinen > Korpikoski

Pakarinen will get more points with the Oil than Korpikoski this upcoming season.

I don't get how people think Hendricks has more value than Letestu. I like Hendricks, but Letestu is cheaper and has a much better offensive game (probably defensive too).

I'm voting Letestu just because I don't think any of the prospects on the list hold enough value yet to be worth more, although I could see a few of them having a better career than Letestu.

Maybe, but he has done it before (and 37 the following year), and will be in a much more offensively orientated system this year

I know but for years players have come to Edmoton and got worse and Korpikoski is a guy who's had a couple down years. I can understand your optimism but i don't see him getting PP time and his EV strength production per 60 was some of the worst in the NHL last year. I could see him getting a nice bump in production if Pouliot gets hurt but it's tough to expect the Oilers to suddenly become an offensive juggernaut were 3rd liners put up 2nd line numbers. I really hope i'm wrong.haha

It's natural that Oiler fans would vote for Hendricks. Most have not watched many Letestu games thus far, and when they have they probably weren't focusing much on him. Hendricks has become a regional fan-favorite of sorts so it's not surprising people view him as more valuable.

This. From 2012 to 2014 Letestu was 0.5PPG player. Last season was worse but he was stuck playing with Jared Boll. Letestu is a legit 30 point 3rd line C/RW and a lot better hockey player than Hendricks is.

I respect what Hendricks brings to the bottom 6. He has to be our best grinder today.

I have watched Letestu, he brings his own style to the Oilers definitely. So I won't compare the two.

Hendricks is more than just a regional fan fav. No one really laughed off his being named Team USA captain.. McLellan also named Hendricks when he talked about leadership and playing the heavy game so his reputation goes beyond the Edmonton region.
