Who do you think is the next most valuable Oiler?

Consider age, contract, injury history, positional value, leadership, potential, etc... Ignore team need. One way of thinking of it would be: in a trade to a neutral team, who would bring the greatest return?

Definitely starts getting a bit more cloudy here. Lander, Pouliot, Fayne? Or does the 3 picks that Talbot returned for NY trump any of them, or could we even assume that Talbot could return that from another team?

Very interested to see these results.

If Talbot plays the same on the Oilers as he did on the Rags, then I'd say Talbot.

But right now, today, I picked Pouliot. The term and cap hit are a little high, but I thought he played rather well in a terrible year for the franchise, and he's the type of skilled banger that many teams could use.

Fayne and Reinhart are decent guesses too. :)

I went with Fayne, but really, I could see it being any one of Fayne, Pouliot, Lander, or Reinhart, and not being wrong with any of them.

I don't see how anyone can pick Talbot here considering Reinhart JUST got more in a trade. We know what their value is.

I would bet a lot of GMs in the league would love to give Schultz a chance. He seems primed to take a step forward. He also has contract control for the next few seasons, but only 1 year of commitment on their end.

Talbot doesn't have the contract control, or else the answer to this would be Talbot. That caveat where Talbot can't even re-sign until January is a killer. Reinhart is very much a prospect right now, who has lots of contract control but I highly doubt GMs around the league would think he can play as good as Schultz today. To me it's a coin flip between Reinhart and Schultz on this one.

Teams usually already have steady depth types like Fayne, Lander and Pouliot. Those players are more important to us right now, but I doubt they carry great trade value. With Pouliot and Fayne, teams get a lot of years, and in this cap era teams prefer to have contract control rather than long term deals, especially for depth players.

I've got to go with Benoit Pouliot here. He puts up points, he plays PP and PK minutes, he's a big body, etc. I think he's our most underrated asset right now.

Reinhart would be next.

Reinhart - he is going to be a big part of this d core moving forward.

Nurse, Klefbom, Reinhart, Schultz are all very nice young pieces on the blue line :)

Reinhardt over Pouliot? You have to be kidding. Pouliot is a great player, rivaling the young guns in effectiveness, plus has size.

He's like Peron in his first year, tied with Hall as Oilers MVP IMO.

Do you think we could trade Pouliot for a mid-first and early second? Because that's what Reinhart was just traded for.
