After seeing the thread, "Greatest Collection of Teammates In A Career" which lists teams that had a collection of teammates that helped win a cup for another team, it makes me wonder which teams in recent memory had the most "home grown" players (team drafted and only played for that team up to that point in time) that had won the Stanley Cup.
I'll start...
Edmonton in '83-84 had 11 players (out of 24 to play at least 1 playoff game) that they drafted or played their first NHL game for Edmonton in that season (or prior seasons). Is that the highest since the WHA expansion...?
Unfortunately, I don't have the Oiler's roster for that Stanley Cup, but hockeydb lists 24 players to play in a playoff game that year (see previous link).
Can anyone do better?
