NHL approves Stillman group's bid to buy Blues

May 9, 2012

Tom Stillman, a former hockey player at the collegiate level and a regular at the Blues' alumni skates, is about to score the biggest goal of his career — as the club's next owner.

On Tuesday, the NHL's Board of Governors unanimously approved a bid by a group of St. Louis investors that is led by Stillman. The league confirmed the news today. The final step is the closing of the sale, which is scheduled for today.

I think the day Ornest bought the team was much more important. The Blues would not exist right now if not for Ornest

Without Brett Hull I don't think the Blues would still be in St. Louis.

I don't consider that a stretch in any capacity.

In his final draft as Director of Amateur Scouting, Jarno Kekalainen presents the Blues two incredible parting gifts:

-14th Overall Pick: Jaden Schwartz-The Crafty, Tenacious Playmaker.

-16th Overall Pick: Vladimir Tarasenko-The Dyanmic, Explosive Finisher.

I agree with this one. Brett Hull gave the Blues a superstar to build around. Not saying the league would have ever moved the Blues, but acquiring Brett solidified them as a competitor and kept the fans coming.

Wouldn't want to imagine the 90's Blues without Brett Hull.
