If we're adjusting for NHL-specific inflation, Gretzky's fights with Dave Taylor and Neal Broten (both above average 1st line players) would have to qualify. And then there's Wayne's fight with Phil Sykes, who wasn't a star, but Jari Kurri was the third man in.

I don't have the number handy, but you'd have to think Kurri, Taylor and Broten would have been among the most expensive hockey players in the world in the mid 80s, to say nothing of Gretz.

I don't know how to check the numbers but this one has to be up there. Kovalchuk also fought Scott Gomez in 2008.

Daytsuk vs. Perry 2010 would be some cash but not the most I am sure

Dayts $6,700,000
Perry $6,500,000

These are my two favorite fights ever. Oh, this and every Thornton fights.

I love how Nash just goes straight Marshmallow there  Datsyuk gives a whooping to Perry:laugh:

I understand how some folk have no grasp on being objective but to say Datysuk gave Perry a "whooping" is out and out ridiculous.

Vinny vs Iginla?? I'm sure there are some more pricey ones but its up there.

Phaneuf vs Iginla had the potential to be an expensive tilt.
