It's not Graf's fault obviously but her Grand Slam record does come with quite a sizable asterisk. At the time of the stabbing incident Monica Seles had won 7 out of the last 9 Grand Slam tournaments. And I'm saying this as someone who isn't even necessarily a big fan of Seles' grunting power game.
The fact that Seles even won a single Grand Slam title after coming back from a 2 year hiatus dealing with pretty serious anxiety & eating disorder issues says something about her talent/skill level.
