</p>With no prospects graduating to the pro ranks, Philadelphia’s prospect core remains intact. Scott Laughton has kept his spot as the team’s best prospect due to his reputation for hard work. While Laughton has continued to be the go-to performer, Nick Cousins showed the most improvement, bouncing back from a struggling year. Brandon Manning exceeded expectations, earning another call up to the Flyers. Meanwhile, goaltender Anthony Stolarz has struggled in his first professional year.

How is the highest risk reward pick a 5th round pick?

That should be Morin 100 pct.

And Hardest shot is Lauridsen? Not the guy that broke the plexiglass at skatezone with a slap shot?

How the hell does Ghost remain the top D prospect after missing a year, and with Sanheim exploding?

Edit: And again, how is Sanheim not the breakout guy?

My favorite part is Oskar Lindblom being the Highest Risk/Reward Prospect when:

There wasn’t much risk involved with Lindblom, as the Flyers snagged him with a late, fifth-round pick.

is the first sentence.

This season, [Stolarz] struggled. Stolarz logged 31 games and 1592 minutes with the Phantoms, much less time than veteran Rob Zepp.
So? Stolarz' first year with the Phantoms was intended to ease him into the line-up.
Stolarz was called up to the Flyers to serve as a backup this season, but only because Zepp was injured.
Again, so?
Stolarz’s best asset is his 6-foot-5 frame, and he still needs time to refine technical aspects of his game.
So then why was it so bad that he didn't log more time?

I was going to point out what was wrong, but decided it was too much effort.
This article is fundamentally bad on so many levels. The writer simply lists surface-level facts and statistics without offering any context, perspective or insight. HF is a niche site which caters to knowledgable, hardcore fans who expect some degree of analytical depth.

Lauridsen has a booming slapshot...

Morin clapper registered 106 at the q skills event or whatever. He has the hardest shot of anyone in our prospect pool and probably any prospect not in the nhl

I really question if the author watched a single game of any prospect in our system. Seems like he just looked at everyone's stats for the year and wrote an article on it. You know, something that a middle school kid can do. It's absolute trash, hf should be embarrassed this was published.

That's because that is the most a Flyers prospect can ever reach. Other teams get 8s, we can only have 7.5s. Jake Virtanen is an 8.
Virtanen's an 8D, which is actually pretty accurate IMO. Elite talent, but unlikely to reach his ceiling.

The writers don't get to see that many games unless they go out of their way to do it. They do have access to talking to other scouts and people who do though. Not terribly unlike beat writers who decide they're experts on the prospect pool during the off-season.
