This won't be easy. The Caps are on fire lately , Ovechkin and Backstrom are back to form and they are pushing hard to make the playoffs.

If Bourque can get back to the level he was pre-injury, I want to see:

73-14-11
67-51-17
27-81-21
32-24-8

Bourque might help DD and Pacioretty get more space and be more sound in the defensive end. Gallagher should make the Ryder-Plekanec duo much more dangerous offensively and Plekanec is good enough to keep that line good defensively. Gionta adds defensive responsibility and a little scoring touch/net presence to the 3rd line, Eller/Gionta connected a few times this season in the few times they've played together. That 4th line is going to be a pain to play against, physical/solid D/good cycle game - essentially a shutdown 3rd line if Therrien was into line matching.

I like the idea of bourque being eased into the lineup. I do expect the lines to be juggled a bit by MT if Bourque looks to be ready for top6 duty again. Either way, it's nice to see someone come back from an injury, especially a concussion. He hopefully will replace Gionta on the PP (PLEASE!!!!).

Michel Therrien should try to split the Gorges-Subban pairing due to the Emelin injury.

Beaulieu-Subban
