Hi, riffing on so many cringe threads on here - The two biggest markets, generated the most emotions, even Sportsnet hosts have been quite open live all year these rivalries are the most awesome for tv ratings.

It’s nice these marginal markets get to participate obviously, but the real champions this year are the Kings of the North.

Discuss.

If the multiverse exists, it is plausible that there is an reality where Toronto and Montreal are not only good, but the best two teams.
But in our reality. No. Not even close

If you want to argue that something that isn't the finals was actually the finals, why wouldn't you argue that Tampa-NYI was the actual finals?

That series went to 7, had 5 1-goal games and was just nasty in general.

Threads like these are a perfect example of the imposter syndrome so many fans have right now.

Maybe not the real Stanley Cup finals but it was the real McKenzie Cup finals.

Anyone who disagrees can take off!

I remember a thread from years ago after the Leafs lost to Boston in 2013 that suggested that the Leafs were actually the second or third best team in hockey because they lost to the team that made it to the finals, which they almost beat in the first round. Same crap this year too apparently...

Toronto is god awful god bless their franchise they need it

Imagine needing 7 games to beat a team when you take out their star player 10 minutes into game 1. And then acting like your team is on a completely different tier.

The entire hockey world knows that Montreal had the easiest path to the finals in recent memory after taking out Tavares and Scheifele. You guys should know how it feels because of the Kreider/Price incident, unfortunately a lot of Habs fans seem to conveniently ignore it now that they are benefitting.

If only Toronto had other star players who could step up in the playoffs in the presence of an injury
