This is surely part of the process to see and show the level of interest the city has to have an NBA team.

Yeah, this is great for Montreal. Good barometer to gauge general basketball interest and depending on the teams/division, this could be pretty high exposure.

This is surely part of the process to see and show the level of interest the city has to have an NBA team.

I'm a big time NBA fan, but I'd rather be stabbed in my tender region with a rusty fork than to watch a NCAA basketball game. I know several of my friends who feel the same. There's very little talent spread through the college level and what is there is very very raw most of the time.

All this to say that I wouldn't try to equate one league with the other as far as potential fan interest is concerned.
