To Montreal: Nick Bjugstad, Denis Malgin, 2nd pick 2019, 3rd round pick 2020 and 4th round pick 2020

vs

To Florida: Max Pacioretty, Karl Alzner (35% retained) and Michael McNiven

MTL POV: Bjugstad is a big young center who can play RW too.. with more ice time could produce more. Malgin is young looks promises.

FLO POV: I know they already have Hoffman who's LW but he can play RW so they Panthers could have a line MaxPac-Trocheck-Hoffman and they can easily sign Pacioretty. Alzner should stabilize left side on defense for Florida behind Yandle and Matheson. McNiven would be a nice add to Panthers goalies depth.. He was the best CHL goalie.. and he's young.

Not saying that a (fair) deal won't happen at the NHL level.
But I think it'll never happen at the HFboards level anymore.

FLA fans keep denying any kind of trade, MTL fans keep proposing. Are we done yet?

Any deal involving Pacioretty will be an easy no from the other fan base. The reason is simple, the board has been saturated with proposal to a point where people get tired of seeing a name and then associate him with a zero to negative value asset. Of course it's not like that in real life, but good luck trying to find a deal that works with Pacioretty on this board.

uh i don't know why everyone says easy no from FLO, i wouldn't do it either from a habs perspective, Bjugstad doesn't do anything for us. Malgin is an other smallish uncertain center and picks are mehh.

This x 10000000

We’re at the point where posters wouldn’t give up a 2nd for him which is ridiculous. He should just retire by seeing the value he has on here.

Then you might as well shut this board down. All that gets talked about is trades of available players.

Same Habs package for Trochek alone.
lol thats a huge no from Florida's perspective. he would be a perfect fit on the habs tho, RH Center who's good defensively and chips in offensively too.

He's still signed on a steal deal for 4 years, florida would trade borgstrom for patches way before they trade trocheck, they don't want anything to do with trading borgstrom so make the math for trocheck lol

Not just available players, speculations is allowed.

But you missed the point. When a name is brought up too often, he loses value on here. Remember before Duchene was traded nobody wanted to trade for him. This is a common phenomena that happens to only a couple of players with too much proposal about them, not to all available players.

But sure, if you want to tun down this board and have the authority to do so, have at it mate!

Michael McNiven is far from the best CHL goalie. He did win some OHL awards in his final season and CHL goalie of the year, but his stats didn't even compare to Carter Hart's stats. It is just unprecedented for a player to get it 2 years in a row. Hart did win it twice in nonconsecutive years, and should have won it over McNiven in 16-17.

We don't even have the 2019 2nd round pick. Also don't like the cap situation this would put us into.

Anyway rather keep our guys. Our top6 is pretty strong - Huberdeau, Barkov, Trocheck, Dadonov, Hoffman are locks with only one free spot for whoever grabs it (Bjugstad, Malgin, Vatrano, Tippett, Borgstrom if on wing and that's just a few options).

The Hoffman addition was pretty much perfect for us if you ignore his off-ice issues - he's a good top6 addition and in two years we can let him go if/when our prospects demand spots in the lineup.

Just not interested.

Guys, come on. It's got to be abundantly clear now - they're not trading Trocheck for anything. Not anything the Habs offer, not anything the Jackets offer, not anything any team offers unless someone gets stupid and offers an even better center with an even better contract (and damned if I can think of one at the moment).

Just give up on it already.
