Post your special teams, any of your extra skaters you might want to sub-in in this series, links to bio or any other information.

The format of the first post is standardized for easy, clean, equal comparison, both teams viewable without having to scroll down.

The first seed versus fourth seed.

Have a good series!

The anemic offense of Farjestad is probably going to be its downfall here. In the top 6, there is Reay, easily the least potent of all the first line centers. For second line scoring wings, Simpson has the least offensive potential except maybe Bohuslav Stastny, Farrell and Cerny (due to difficulty of comparison) - and that's even if I give him the benefit of a per-game analysis. On the other wing, Kallur is completely unqualified for a scoring line role. From age 27-32 in a 1975-1980 NHL, he was barely a half a point per game. I do realize that he was better offensively in Sweden but it's a big leap to suggest he's in the class of other 2nd line wingers who spent their careers on top lines scoring 50-80 points a season.

Anton Stastny, despite being a pretty good player himself, is just not the scorer that the other 1st line offensive wingers are. His VsX scores don't stand out from all the other comparable NHLers playing a primarily offensive role on the 1st line, but those guys didn't have Peter Stastny's help.

On the plus side, Farjestad has a very strong starting goalie and a backup who many would agree should be a starter in this draft. With goaltending being so important, anything can happen. That said, Regina has one of the best goalies in this MLD too, in Pete Peeters. Of course, an "off" series at the same time that Mowers is "on", could be disastrous.

Our team is built on the two-way principle and not the "two scoring line, one checking line and one energy line".

We are playing a diciplined style of defensive-minded hockey. That said.

I think your first line has obvious flaws, while Nikolai Drozdetsky looks good on paper he was a flash in the pan. MLDs answer to Kovalchuk. Janney is wasted on him as he wasn't someone to work well with others. He holds the puck and relies on speed. That your bio even brings up that he was a star in swedish division 2 is ridiculous. The divisional system is complicated here in sweden but I'll try to explain it in north american terms. Division 2 is basically swedens answer to CHL so there is no merits there. You got yourself a great PP specialist for this level but don't let his '84 fool you thinking he was offensive catalyst.

I like Janney and Crowder but will they work well together? Janney would work better if he had the muscle on LW and a pure sniper on the right.

I like your second line, I've heard nothing but good things about Gilmour and Lala could easily be a first liner here.

Third line is a good two-way line with one of my favorite players, Ridley.

I think we definitly win in the goalie department because of Peeters inconsistencies in the playoffs.

Not sure about 70s wingers but his center depth is nice at this level. Janney has to be the best playmaker in this but could use more of a gun on his line I think.. and Ridley is just a throwback hockey player. He did so many little things right and was good two-ways.

Am I the only one who thinks Straka should be in instead of Maloney to give that third line some scoring punch? I'm just not seeing where Maloney is a better player than Straka.

Yeah, Straka's a better player, but I don't see him being better on a shut down line.

Regina wins in 6 Games

"Capitals started out strong at home ice and takes two wins in close games." "Mowers shuts the door in the next two games."

Regina takes it in the end, due in no small part to a dominant final 2 games by Jiri Lala.

Stars:

1. Jiri Lala
2. Johnny Mowers
3. Phat Wilson

Billy Gilmour and Pete Peeters also contributed to Regina's victory.
