Team not being able to score - a problem all season.
Team not being able to kill penalties - a problem all season.
Team getting hemmed in their own zone - a problem all season.

There is literally zero improvement in any aspect this season. They're on historically bad pace, and they're likely to get even worse when they trade any asset worth anything.
None of that will get better if the players stay the exact same all season minus a few swap outs here and there.

So true. I see some of the posters here are putting Celebrini in future sharks line up so on and so forth, but NHL Draft is so rigged that Gary Bettman and Bill Daly are so poise of getting Chi or Pit or a big market team like the Rangers will get the 1st pick overall. The sharks is a small market team which mean they bring little to the NHL tickets sales as suppose to the Rangers or Chi. Perennial Sharks will never pick 1st overall. Your entertainment dollar is not getting its fair share in the eyes of the Commish.
I’m so tired of people thinking everything is rigged. I gotta friend who thinks every football game is rigged, so I’ll ask you what I ask him every time he goes on a rant:

Why even bother watching if you think it’s that rigged?

Also this is the perfect year for the NHL to gift the Sharks the 1st pick. The Bay Area is actually a big market and a “homegrown” star is there that they could market. The Sharks have shown when competitive can be a market that produces season long sellout streaks.

Of all the likely teams tanking I would argue that Celebrini to the Sharks would provide the greatest ROI to the league as both Anaheim and Chicago already have young stars that can put butts in seats.

It doesn’t matter because it isn’t rigged but just pointing out that the lottery is rigged argument doesn’t even disqualify the Sharks.

the Shark's lottery pick is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming of the NHL. It is the eventuality of an anomaly, which despite Bettman's sincerest efforts has have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mathematical precision. While it remains a burden assiduously avoided, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led Anton Silayev, inexorably, here.

Just be prepared. CHI/PIT will win the lottery, Sharks will move down two spots, and Pittsburgh makes a run next year so that pick will be in the late 20's.

What is the lowest odds a team has ever had that got #1 overall? Was it NYR in 2020?

Yes the rangers for the laugh of first overalls

Ahem, there is a certain Mr. Daigle, Mr. Yakupov, and Mr. Stefan to consider. Though to be fair to Stefan he was done no favours by being drafted by the Thrashers and playing in the NHL right away on a 14-win team.

When does this season end. It's one thing to be desensitized to losing and I think we all are that way this year. It's quite another to be shut out by Buffalo of all teams. This team is atrocious.

I don't know, but I find myself going to ESPN's standings and click on league then scrolling down to the bottom to see who's in first. I guess it's one way to make this season somewhat palatable.
