Sterner is on the wrong line. He would work better with someone like Maruk instead of Chouinard.

How come?

Not disagreeing, it would just be nice if you'd expand on this.

Sterner worked best with an egoistic goal scoring center (Tumba) in a pure historical sense. If you are going to use him as a LW. Otherwize use him at center where he actually had his best years.

It's a shame you had to step in mid-draft Johnny, I'll offer a few thoughts on our forwards.

- Maruk has the second best VsX scores of any player in the series after Wiseman, but it's hard to compare him with Harry Smith.

- FWIW, Iain Fyffe's point allocation system has Smith with a 95.5 score. Some other high scoring MLDers under this system are: Harry Oliver (105.3), Bob McDougall (98.2), Carson Cooper (88.5), Allan Cameron (86.1), Tom Paton (84.5), and Barney Stanley (83.6).

- I always think of Sterner as a good top six choice in the MLD. I'll work on a post comparing him and Drozdetsky.

- The Rockets other top six wings seem to stick out the wrong way. Goheen has weak quality of competition in the AHA. Davidson only has two meaningful years in his career, both were top 10 goal scoring years but neither cracked the top 5. Iain's system gives Goheen and Davidson scores of 54.9 and 55.8 respectively.

- Mondou only has three years with a VsX score about 50, peaking at 62. Offensively, he seems more of a bottom six guy than top liner.

- Rogers would be a nice 2nd line center, but does have any defensive chops to form a two-way third line?

Here are the seven year weighted VsX scores for our top six players:
|
Wiseman|72.5
Maruk| 71.7
Taylor| 65.8
Bellows|64.9
Chouinard| 62.0
March|61.8
Mondou|48.2

To be fair, Johnny previously explained why Rogers is where he is in the lineup. It's mostly a symptom of playing the hand he was dealt.

Thanks for mentioning that. As we go to vote, I'm going to call my collection of tiny centres and generally rounded wingers "pesky", and leave it at that.

And reiterate that I don't have the internet at my apartment yet.
