Powassan

Notes:

1) Vairo, being close with Tarasov, will institue his 1-2-2 system at times to give the opposition a different look. Marsh will play the Ragulin role, Swift and Populanov will be halfbacks and Boll and Peplinski will play the forward positions. Populanov will also rotate wingers with Guryshev and play the same system at times but with Huberdeau and Boucher up front.

2) Turco and Lemelin will platoon during the RS, going with the hotter hand in the playoffs.
PP1:
Cerny - Rogers - Ridpath
Bodger - Guevremont

PP2:
Huberdeau - Guryshev - Boucher
Swift - Polupanov

PK1:
Steen - Gardner
Greene - Marsh

PK2:
Polupanov - Peplinski
Bodger - Young

All Voodoos showdown!

Goaltending...

Bert Lindsay notwithstanding, among the 3 modern goalies I think that Powassan has the advantage, in terms of Adjusted SV%...

Reggie Lemeline 0.912
Marty Turco 0.907
Nikolai Khabibulin - 0.905

Obviously ASV% has its flaws, also looking at Vezina Records...

Marty Turco - 2, 4, 5
Reggie Lemelin - 2, 3, 4, 7, 7
Nikolai Khabibulin - 7, 8

Then looking at All Start Noms...

Marty Turco - 2, 3, 4, 8
Reggie Lemelin - 3, 3, 6, 6, 8, 9, 10, 10
Nikolai Khabibulin - 6, 8, 8, 9, 10, 13

Not that low level votes mean a huge amount, but both of those looks like an advantage both statistically and in terms of votes. They also all got a small volume of Hart votes. One year Lemelin/Khabibulin, 3 times for Turco.

Now Khabibulin has the 1 cup win with Tampa, so I think its fair to say that he has the best PO records amongst the 3. Turco had 2 decent POs, Reggie had one.

Now this is of course the POs so I think the Bulin Wall closes the gap a bit, but I think still that Powassan has a slight edge in net, Lindsay notwithstanding, I've been trolling through his details and will add a bit about him when I have a more fulsome idea.

More thoughts...

Khomutov is the best forward in the matchup (and probably the MLD in general in my view).

I think Dolly Swift is an underrated weapon in this matchup.

I like Victoria’s forwards more and my defence more.

I need to read up on Bobby Kromm.
