Alonzo turning down that long term deal just screams he has no desire to be a Met unless you overpay me.
He may get a shorter deal for more money. Nobody is giving him seven years.

"New York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto made Major League Baseball history on Tuesday night when he drew a walk as part of a win against the Minnesota Twins (NYY 5, MIN 1). Soto, who entered the evening with 668 career bases on balls, broke a tie with Yankees legend Mickey Mantle for the most walks drawn by a batter before they celebrated their 26th birthday, according to MLB's official stats Twitter account. Here's a complete look at the top five performers in this category:
  1. Juan Soto, 669 walks
  2. Mickey Mantle, 668
  3. Mel Ott, 626
  4. Eddie Yost, 620
  5. Bryce Harper, 585"

I thought Aaron Judge was the most electric player on the Yankees in years....and then Soto arrived.

Dude is straight fire, and Judge was already straight fire.

The Yankees ownership of the Twins is nuts.
Steinbrenner was on a podcast today talking about making Soto a Yankee for life and that he would be engaging Boras in discussions starting now.

Combined with the Mets' miserable play of late and the Cohen 'teardown' tweet from last night talk about twisting the knife, LOL.

Soto fleeing to the Mets. Judge washed. You know when I'll know hell has actually frozen over in Yankee Land? When they start losing to the Minnesota Twins.

120-44 against them over their last 164 games.

They've been a decent to good team for a good chunk of that too.

It's Boston vs Toronto in the playoffs... but in the regular season too.

Twins were just coming off a 17-3 run. They get a lead off HR in the series against the Yankees and never scored again. It's ridiculous. Matt Blake is low key one of the most underrated pitching coaches in the sport right now.
