Yeah I get that. Well actually no, Oakland isn’t poor. The owner has plenty of money. They act poor. My point is just because service time will still be accrued for players it doesn’t preclude the A’s or any other team from re-signing their players. If they choose not to make a strong offer to re-sign then then that’s on them.

The owners have money, but it's still a business. They have one of the worst tv deals in baseball and play in one of the worst stadiums. Once the new stadium is set in stone things will change. They want the current core to be in place when it opens.

Will they play in empty stadiums? Once they get the economics straitened out?

I don't see any fans at any sporting event until at least 2021. That's assuming there isn't a second wave breakout this winter...
