Assuming Pitt misses the post season, do they trade Malkin? If so, what is his value? Obviously Pitt would need a 2C in return but what else do you think he gets?

"The first overall pick goes to...*drum roll*... the Pittsburgh Penguins."

Would be funny to see Bettman and Mario high five....... just to have an intern walk on stage and whisper in their ears that Edmonton owns that pick.

Bob Mckenzie - "But they don't have a first round pick"

Bettman " Hey what can I say, the ping pong ball popped up it says penguins, they get the first pick. Who am i to argue with the great ping pong ball machine"

They don't have a 1st.

Putting that aside, the odds for the worst lottery pick (which I'm assuming the Bruins/Pens would have or be a spot below) is 1 percent. Not all that scared of a 1 percent chance. Would be looking more towards our 6.5'ish percent chance or the fact that any team getting it that's not us sucks. Such as NJ (who actually has better odds then us and a slightly realistic chance).

While it sucks personally the Kings won't be in the playoffs, I'm glad teams like Calgary and Winnipeg benefitted from it.

I kind of wanted to see the Kings make the playoffs. I wanted to see them play the Hawks again. But they and especially their 'fans' deserve to miss it. They act like they are so good that can just coast through the regular season, which is fine until something like this happens. The arrogance their fan base has is embarrassing.

A playoff where there might not/isn't a Kings, Sharks, Pens or Bruins team. interesting.

I'm predicting as of right now Eastern Conference - Rangers
(hard to predict) Western Conference - Blues (tough one) - if Elliot is good

tb vs rangers eastern confernce final. Vs Anaheim and the central winner. for western confernce final.

The Central is going to be freaking crazy. I could literally see every team win . I think right now though the Preds are probably the worst of the 4 teams.

What does a fan base have to do with anything? Who cares? When you're a winner, you gain interest, and thus fans. That's how sports works. The Flyers wouldn't be the Flyers if Ed Snider, Bobby Clarke and Bernie Parent went to Kansas City instead of Philadelphia. Same with the Blackhawks, and the Ducks, and the Penguins, and everybody else. And the Phillies.

What? I think their fanbase is annoying and arrogant ant therefore I am glad their team missed the playoffs. What's wrong with that? I really don't even care whether they're real fans or fake fans. They act like their team didn't have to suck for many years to get where they are today.

I'm happy I don't have to watch Dustin Brown lift another cup. I hate him. Him and Nolan and their cheapshots.

Every fan base is annoying and arrogant if you're using the same standard for everybody is my point. When you win, interest goes up, which means the lowest common denominator goes up with it. In 2007, the world was upside down when the Kings were doormats and the Sabres were "scary-good," this is the same conversation, and they didn't even make it to the finals.
