He's in a battle with Folin and Dumba to be the 6th D-man... may still stick as the 7th either way.

I like what he brings when he's called upon.

Not only did I like Blum in his stint with the Wild last year, but he's the kind of guy you want to root for. Good signing and it gives Blum a reason to fight for a spot on the blueline in St. Paul.

Blum really impressed me when we actually got to see him this season. I hope he does good this year.

I'd love to see this guy playing with us consistently. I could never figure out why we didn't use him more often with how well he played when we needed him.

No where to stick Prosser or Ballard I'm guessing, and no injury to use to call him up down the stretch.

Glad to see him get another year with us. Guy isn't showing quite the promise he did with Nashville a few years ago but he's certainly not a bust or a career AHLer yet. Let's see what he can do with some more consistent NHL time.

I'm a bit surprised he didn't get a one-way deal.

My guess is, with the possibility of getting another D-man for the Wild roster either via trade or UFA still... and the fact that we're going into the season with likely 3 tenders on the Wild roster... can't keep 8 D-men as we did last year, and thus since he is a likely option to be sent down in such a scenario, they want to keep their costs to a minimum at the AHL level. Not like Blum had a lot of ammunition going into the negotiations.
