Thought teams had to wait until the first day of free agency to announce extensions for guys a year out in this case that would be October 9.

Guess they kept the original july 1 date for contract extensions

Career high of 25 points before this year. And you're cool with giving him term and basically the highest point of his value in cap. Just an awful over pay especially with the flat cap.

He has never been relied upon to produce points but rather his defensive ability which he is one of the best in the game at. If he was ever given PP time his point totals would surely go up but with Suter in front of him that’s hard to get.

It’s a fair contract for what he brings.

Because he just hit a career high of 28 (33 if you want to pace it) and is being paid top pairing D minutes.

He's one of the best shutdown defenseman in the league. 7x5.5 would have been more comfortable, but it's hardly worth griping over 500k.

You're just in here trying to stir shit up and it's embarrassing for you.

I would throw a 3rd to Seattle for them to take Greenway
Yeah maybe. I'd prefer to keep Kunin if we can, but overall it's not going to be the end of the world if he's the guy. Plus you never know how all this looks by June; maybe Greenway puts up 60 points or something stupid.
