With a condensed and shortened schedule, goalie depth is more important than usual. You're going to see more back-to-back games, and an injury to a starter will be tougher to get through.

Any goalie with a pulse should be getting a contract.

The weird thing about Hammond is that aside from 2016-2017 his numbers actually look pretty good on paper. I don’t remember being that impressed when he was a Senator(aside from his rookie season)

Well, unless Stalock has a serious injury, Hammond will be a AHL backup. He is not replacing Kahkonen as the AHL starter. Makes me wonder why they let Robson go.

When I saw this I realized in the back of my mind I still dream of JBB pulling off the McElhinney-Stalock swaperoo.

AHL backup unless stalock begins the year injured, in which case he will be the AHL starter.

Because he wasn't very good in Iowa and they probably didn't see any upside for improvement

Big winner are his teammates. He gets free Macdonald’s for life. Lunch on Andrew !!

I’m guessing pro athletes have better meals than what you could get at McDonalds.

Free burgers for life? Not so much for Sens' Andrew Hammond | Ottawa Sun

Well, not so much "free for life", as promised.

McDonald's apparently cheaped-out and gave him $1,000 (probably Canadian) in McDonald's coupons -- which the Hamburglar said is pretty much a lifetime supply of McDonalds anyway.

I like the Hamburglar and wish he had scored a one way contract.

Too much to hope for, I guess.
