Ya, what a stud. Some here have very short memories.

He was absolutely roasted by many here but was a below average NHL STARTING goalie behind an absolutely brutal team. He was used moronicly as well playing 10+ games straight for reasons a 10 year old would scoff at. Unreal stupidity by Oilers coaching/management.

He was overpaid sure, but he was intended to be our starter and was technically only slightly overpaid for that role.

Behind the Avalanche defense he might have been an all-star level goalie. Those Oilers teams were brutal.

Koskinen was a decent goalie, until he was over-scouted and everyone had a book on him.

Pretty much the league quickly dissected his short-comings and routinely exploited them.
Every goalie under the tutelage of Dustin Schwartz, he progressively got worse and worse year after year.

Yup. Every player and goalie has weak spots. Today’s level of analysis, data and video will expose things to those who can do that work, including your own position coaches. The fact that he really never overcame these weak points in his game is on him but maybe more on those supporting him, like Dustbin Schwartz who should have been analyzing all that data..

The most polarizing Oilers #19 since Cowboy Flett. I saw one of his KHL saves on TSN's Top 50 Saves of All Time
