Would someone pay a 1st, even if it's late, for a 36 year old UFA though? As good as he may still be.
Think a 2nd + mid level prospect is more in line no?

A playoff team would, especially if it looks like they'll finish high.

Just looking at the current standings, I see a bunch of teams that Koivu would be a 3rd line center upgrade for going into the playoffs. Flames, Jets, Avalanche, Penguins, Oilers, Panthers among them. Only takes one.
