What has Ramo done to be rated higher than Hiller?
Extremely streaky season of Hiller as expected but no worse than Ramo for sure..
It depends on how the person is ranking the players, a B rating isn't necessarily saying that Ramo has been better.

Like for me for example, I use the following scale when I give player ratings.
  • A = far exceeded expectations
  • B = exceeded expectations
  • C = met expectations
  • D = below expectations
  • F = far below expectations

So I would personally give both Hiller and Ramo a C. But looking at other players I would give someone like Jooris an A+ but Colborne a B, but I think Colborne is the better and more valuable player to our team.

Backlund - don't think it's really fair to grade him on 3 healthy games. As far as expectations, it's been a pretty disappointing season thus far.

Backlund - B+
Injuries are unfortunate, but this has had impact on his season. When he's healthy, he's our best all around center.
Baertschi - C
Confidence is king at this age. When you're given goon-level minutes, you can't expect much. It pains me that when he was given a chance, he was really good too.
Bollig - B-
Everyone is complaining about him. I'm not. The few times he protected this team; he paid for his contract. I don't think Orpik will be making stupid runs against Calgary anymore. It's more than goon v goon, Bollig makes other players accountable for their own actions, he makes them fight; and if they don't they're getting hurt.
Bouma -A
He's been exactly what you want from your bottom line winger.
Brodie -A-
He could have an A+ if he had a bit more consistency. He'll get there, but during our losing streak, he wasn't very good.
Colborne - B
That injury hurt him, but man, he's looking really good. Big bodied, hard to knockoff the puck... and generally comes away with it in a scrum. What you want from a projected third line tweener.
Diaz - C-
Hasn't been great.
Engelland - C-
Getting some big money, and hasn't solidified the bottom pair at all. When him and Smido are together, it's a train-wreck waiting to happen.
Ferland - C+
I liked him in his call-up. He's going to be a decent NHLer.
Gaudreau - A+
A Calder finalist, on my team, what can you say.
Giordano - A+
The best player night in/out for the Flames. The captain.
Glencross - B+
He started the season slow, but he's picking up points and starting to get back to that hard game that gained him popularity.
Granlund -B
Much like most rookies, up and down season. I'm excited to see what happens to Granny moving forward. Showed flashes of top 6 potential.
Hiller - B+
At one point he was the only thing keeping the Flames afloat. He's been down recently, but he's still a decent goalie.
Hudler - A+
Arguably the best forward this year along with Johnny.
Jones - B
When he's banging, he's playing the right way. He's gone back to that this year.
Jooris - B+
Up and down, nagging injury. This kid was a pleasant surprise this year.
Knight - C
Didn't get to see him much. He was okay in his limited role.
McGrattan - D+
Unfortunately, the era of the goon is dead. He's a great team guy, but he can't really play this game as new-age forth liner.
Monahan - B+
Up and down, much like all the kids. I expect more offensive from him.
Ramo - B-
He's been good for stretches and then very mediocre.
Raymond - C+
Started well, hasn't played great outside of a few games.
Reinhart - D+
Not much Reino did during his stint.
Russell - B+
Solid middle pairing guy; block leader. Can't ask for much more. Maybe a goal or two?
Setoguchi - F
The Gooch. Nuff said.
Smid - C-
Has been bad this year, after being really good last year. Unfortunate.
Stajan - C
Matt Stajan, is expendable. That's about all I have to say about him.
Wideman - B+
Great #3 behind the top pair. Exactly what you want from Wideman. Points, and not burning you every time he hits the ice.
