Several sources are reporting that Microsoft have bought the open source application host site GitHub.
I guess the internet/computer- /gamingdevelopment where a few large entities will form an oligopoly
by buying all smaller entities to incorporate them and/or close them down.

For Microsoft Corp., acquiring GitHub Inc. would be both a return to the company’s earliest roots and a sharp turnaround from where it was a decade ago.
The software maker has agreed to acquire GitHub, the code-repository company popular with many software developers, and could announce the deal as soon as
Monday, according to people familiar with the matter.

Microsoft Will Acquire Coding Site GitHub

Microsoft has reportedly acquired GitHub, and could announce the deal as early as Monday. Bloomberg reports that the software giant has agreed to acquire GitHub,
and that the company chose Microsoft partly because of CEO Satya Nadella. Business Insider first reported that Microsoft had been in talks with GitHub recently.

GitHub is a vast code repository that has become popular with developers and companies hosting their projects, documentation, and code. Apple, Amazon, Google,
and many other big tech companies use GitHub. Microsoft is the top contributor to the site, and has more than 1,000 employees actively pushing code to repositories on GitHub.
Microsoft even hosts its own original Windows File Manager source code on GitHub.
The service was last valued at $2 billion back in 2015, but it’s not clear exactly how much Microsoft has paid to acquire GitHub.

Because TFS sucks dick. They could also incorporate private GitHub servers as part of their stack. My company will NEVER host their code on a public site, even if the repos are all private. We have our own Bitbucket server, which I despise. Hopefully this purchase means we can move to GitHub, assuming Microsoft offers it as part of the package we already have with them.
