Nothing is stopping them from sending Jordan down, at risk of waivers, if that's what they want to do.

The difference between Jordan playing a partial season in the AHL on a 2-way vs a 1-way is a few hundred grand at most (assuming he clears waivers, otherwise the cost is that we lose him). If they're not willing to stake that kind of money on developing prospects and winning games, 7th defensemen are the least of our worries.

I mean, we have Francis in the media right now entertaining the possibility of paying Semin $14 million to play for someone else.

i would honestly rather have Bellemore

I have a feeling Bellemore's been getting some bad advice from his agent.

His agent appears to believe Bellemore is something more than a #6/7 defenseman. And if he's got Bellemore believing that as well, I don't blame Francis for letting him walk.

bellemore has third tier european league second-pairing defenseman written all over him

he should be incredibly grateful that plymouth drafted him and thus the hurricanes have felt obligated to pointlessly spend almost a decade trying to turn him into an nhl player
