No but I'm assuming the Hawks owner would sell his minority shares there to become a bigger stake holder here. Can a person own 2 teams? Kind of a conflict right?
The Hall-of-Famer is reportedly finalizing the sale of the Charlotte Hornets to a group led by Hornets minority owner Gabe Plotkin and Atlanta Hawks minority owner Rick Schnall, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Tank a business for over a decade, walk away with a $2.7 billion profit. Hell of a meritocracy we've got going here.
Anyway, the Hornets have been so unbelievably bad for so long that this can't possibly make them worse. Maybe new ownership gives them a breath of fresh air and they acquire some decent talent for once. I have to think Lamelo has a ton of people in his ear telling him to get the hell out of Charlotte.
George Shinn doing anything these days?Tank a business for over a decade, walk away with a $2.7 billion profit. Hell of a meritocracy we've got going here.

Is leaving Charlotte a realistic option at this time, in terms of the city itself (not factoring in potential destinations)?

It’s all due to the mega tv deals. Sports are basically the only thing people still watch live. Not a business-man but I wonder if the skyrocketing value on sports franchises is related to the fact that sports are pretty much the only live event people will still follow.
I’m not that close to the details of the arena lease etc, but broadly speaking I don’t think anyone would be rioting in the streets if they left. The city has already been through that once, and everything has been steeply downhill with v2.0. If anything, the city would hardly blink if they left while the Panthers were on the upswing. There’s just no momentum at all, no sense that the Hornets are important.
but fans lost their shit when they drafted Miller.
He's not talking about relocating the team. He's referring to the player Lamelo Ball signing elsewhere asap.Is leaving Charlotte a realistic option at this time, in terms of the city itself (not factoring in potential destinations)?
