Yep, similar deal to this one. Basically a warm body to play in the AHL. Actually I think that deal was for the purpose of freeing up a contract slot.

I think it's to give McIlrath a chance. We have 7 defenseman ahead of him here not including Graves and Gilmore who are likely ahead of him in the organization's mind.
