Let's take a reasonable look at McGinn. Most were very happy with his signing because he would bring some offense and he brought this so called toughness we need.

Year Points Shots
17 17 116
16 37 156
15 6 36 (was he injured?)
14 38 167
13 22 128

He has never been strong with the plus minus his entire career but he can be a spark plug and score as long as he shoots the puck a lot. He may have had a bad year last year because he was "trying" to play a more defensive game and his shots dropped by a 1/3. Kinda sounds like the Duke. Do you believe that Tochs systems will reignite McGinn career to a 40 point man. He may be looked to fill Vrbys offense from last year.

I was not a fan of him last year but I believe he will generate 35 to 45 points this year. still will be a minus player but will have a strong year.. Deadline deal maybe

I think he's good for 10-15 goals and 30-35 points this year.

I'm thinking, without replacing Vrbata's scoring, that he will have ample opportunity to shine. So, I went with around 30 points, since he'll probably be tried up and down the line (at LW but more likely RW)

A quick look at possibilities...
Domi - Stepan - McGinn (I hope not, but is a possibility)
Perlini - Dvorak - McGinn (decent placement adds "grit" to the youngsters)
Crouse - Strome - McGinn (doesn't look promising, but could work)
Martinook - Richardson - McGinn (most likely line, but not sure how they'll do)

McGinn - Dvorak - Duclair (a bit frightening for Dvo unless Duke kicks it up a notch)
McGinn - Strome - Rieder (also a bit on the scary side)
McGinn - Cousins - Richardson (could be okay for a 4th line)

There is no button for "Don't Care" ????

 Well, actually, I think that is expressed by not posting to a thread you aren't interested in or voting in a poll you aren't concerned with.

Sure, McGinn had a rough season, but he's still a member of the team. Of course, I suppose we could try to lure Moss out of retirement to replace him if you'd like :sarcasm:

The problem for him is he'll get no PP time:

Career:
GP: 522
Pts: 184
PPP: 40
5v5: 144

Career/82:
Pts/82: 29
PPP/82: 06
5v5/82: 23

6yrs w/no AHL:
GP: 379
Pts: 159
PPP: 39
5v5: 123

6yrs w/no AHL/82:
Pts/82: 34
PPP/82: 08
5v5/82: 26

^ I'd say he'll put up roughly 26pts next season. 25% of his career goals are PPG and roughly 18% of his career assists are PPA. 54% of his career points are goals. So I'd wager things even out a little on the goals v assists side of things due to the lack of PPG next season.

Prediction (based on 82gp):
13g 13a 26pts

Say he plays 78 games (FINAL ANSWER):
13g 12a 25pts

It really depends on Strome and Keller. If they make an impact you are correct, if not McGinn could be first or second unit power play unit. Right now I believe has penciled in for Vrbys spot. It's either McGinn or Tobias Rieder.

Agreed, 25 points. Low points would be 20, high in the 30 point range assuming he plays 75 games. He won't make or break us though. His upside is limited and on the down side he is replaceable.

I thought it was some do we trade McGinn poll or something, not how many pts he's going to get.

Do you think we'd need a poll for that  I think many of us would be happy to trade him if we could get something decent/beneficial in return

I think with a new coach, plenty of things will be tried, so McGinn may get opportunities to play on the PP; he'll just have to shine when those opportunities are given.

Of course, my position is taken from the perspective that Keller may not be with the Coyotes regularly until around mid-season (a point many disagree with). With that in mind, who do we have for RW duty? Rieder (not spectacular on the PP)? Duclair (currently seen as inconsistent)? Richardson (not my pick for PP duty)? Fischer (unproven and not much PP time iirc)?

With the above in mind, and potentially no additional forward additions, McGinn could easily earn more PP time and Chayka did sign him high for a reason, perhaps a new approach on the ice will help him excel; after all, he isn't too far removed from some 35+ point seasons.

Camp will tell, I suppose...

True. If he's getting real PP time (very bad news for the team and us as fans) add probably 4g and 3a to my projections. 17g 15a 32pts

How much more? He played over 70mins and had more giveaways per shift than points all season long. But yeah. If you give him 200mins he might score amazing 6 points
instead of just 2...if you're lucky at least.

As the only one who voted "bust 10 points" so far, I just wanted to say that I actually have no idea and only selected that option as a joke.

The joke is Jamie McGinn himself. The only McGinn with NHL lvl is Brock. Jamie is just as bad as Tye. He just got lucky that Chayka gave him a crazy contract and threw some stupid money at him as well.

Agree that he's got a bad contract but he does have 100 NHL goals. He's not Tye. He'd be a good player at half the price.

I actually think he will have his best season this year. Tochet will be a breath of fresh air for him and all the players. And he will be playing with better or more seasoned players
so I think he will benefit from that.
