Mcdavid Vs Stamkos defensively

Haven't watched Stamkos enough to vote in this poll but if he's worse than McDavid, he must be really really bad. McDavid plays like a winger and floats all the time. He can PK, tho.

Not sure if he’s gotten better recently but Stamkos was useless defensively for his first 7 years in the NHL.

McDavid certainly isn't perfect in the defensive zone, but his speed and ability to strip pucks is incredible. That alone makes him a very valuable defensive player because he often strips developing odd man rushes or is able to get back to neutralize odd man rushes that other players wouldn't be able to.

Was a fun match up today. Did Stamkos get a scoring chance for himself? McDavid had nine.

McDavid does play more like a winger than a centre which needs to be taken into consideration. Both players should be far from any conversation of the good defensive centres in the league.
