Even with scoring up considerably this season we still won't be seeing a 110+ point player.
Maybe in the mid 90s. Not today. The best we could hope for IMO if scoring doesn't increase alot would be 5-8 105-115 point seasons with great two way play, I think that's his ceiling and would be enough to make him hands down the best player since Lemieux IMO.
Assuming health I would expect McDavid to approach 110 ish at the very least during his peak. 120+ would be exceptional though.
Disregarding the higher scoring seasons, since the millennium some of the highest scoring seasons Jagr hit 121, Sakic hit 118, Forsberg paced for 116, Ovechkin paced for 124, Malkin paced for 119.
Jagr saw 23 min+ TOI. Ovechkin/Malkin/Sakic (giving Sakic a discount for his SH) all saw 21 min+. McDavid currently gets around 21, but the majority/rest of scoring/ppg leaders see more in the vicinity of Forsberg's 19 min. If that's a trend that continues I think we'll see fewer 100+ seasons going forward.
If we'd look at it in 3 similar length spans (excluding the higher scoring seasons on purpose, as well as the lockout, on purpose to keep similar environments)...

Hardly a conclusive analysis but I think there is a clear correlation between TOI and scoring.
Of the 19 100+ pts seasons since 00/01, only 6 players saw below 21:00 TOI (Kane 16, D. Sedin 11, H. Sedin 10, Backstrom 10, Naslund 03, Forsberg 03), only 4 players saw below 20:00 (D. Sedin 11, H. Sedin 10, Naslund 03, Forsberg 03), only 1 player saw below 19:00 (D. Sedin 11).
This year 2-3 players may hit 100, the avg TOI among top10 ppg is 19:58, but as you say scoring is also up a bit. Unless scoring spikes, or TOI start increasing among elite offensive players, I don't think we'll see many 110+ seasons, and definitely not 130+ seasons!
