McDavid heating up, what are odds on 150 points this season?

Can he pile up 2 goals and 3 assists in his final 2 games to break some serious feats?

I wouldn’t bet against him, but one of the remaining games is against the Avalanche.
Still has the Conference to play for and has generally played well against the Avs so there's no reason why he can't.

Team is barely being given any PPs lately and he's battling through a lot of clutch and grab obstruction lately though so that doesn't help.

After 4 scoreless games total during his first 20 games this season, he has at least a point in 57 of his last 60 games and collected 116 points during it.

Let’s break it down into 1/4 season stretches.

Games 1-20: 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 points

Games 21-40: 17 goals and 23 assists for 40 points

Games 41-60: 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points

Games 61-80: 16 goals and 22 assists for 38 points

Consistent every step of the way. Has importantly validated his 2020-2021 campaign to most of the detractors and if anyone since the turn of the century has earned the right to have their early season totals projected out, it’s him.

The insane part is that Gretzky did it 9 times and Lemieux 4 times. Everyone else just once, and one of those guys played on a line with Gretz.
Small correction: Bernie Nicholls was a center and thus didn't play on a line with Gretzky in 1988-89. However, Nicholls and Gretzky killed penalties together and played the whole season on the PP together.
Also only need two goals to break Ovie’s record.
"Record"...?

Unbelievable year and much kudos to McDavid, heck of an accomplishment during modern era., no doubt!!!

I thought Kuch's 128 points in 2019 was crazy but what McDavid just did is just insane!!! Hope McDavid can eventually get a "Cup" because he's a generational player. I dislike when unbelievable players don't win Championships, my fingers are crossed. Takes great line mates to do this and each time any player scores 100+ points in modern era. Great line mates are part of that story, McDavid's line mates deserve kudos here also.

Congrats McDavid !!!!

With an assist on the game winning overtime goal against the Avs tonight, McDavid ties Esposito for the 15th most points in a season with 152.

One more point would give him sole possession and 850 career points through 8 seasons, setting up the opportunity to reach 1000 career points by the end of his age 27 season with another 150 point performance.

Hoping he can pull out 4 points and get to 156. The game actually matters as they start 1 hour earlier than Vegas/Seattle. Def something to play for. An EDM win and a Vegas loss in regulation and they jump over them and win the division and the West I believe. We shall see.

Hope he sits with Drai to be honest. I don't care who we play 1st round. We beat both LA and Peg easy.

With 1st in the conference on the line and it being Fan Appreciation Night in Edmonton there is no chance these two sit. There is always an injury risk but at their age they don't really need rest going into the playoffs.

I hope he plays 82th game. If he didn't miss any game why miss last one? One game will not give him 'rest'. Let's hope he plays his 3rd full season.

With his PP assist on the OT winner yesterday, McDavid becomes only the 2nd player in NHL history to score 70 PP points in a season. (Mario Lemieux is the only other - he did that three times).

McDavid can potentially lead the league in both ES and PP scoring. That's a bit more common than I thought. Going back to 1950, that's been achieved by:
  • Gordie Howe - 1952, 1953, 1954
  • Jean Beliveau - 1956
  • Stan Mikita - 1964, 1967
  • Phil Esposito - 1969, 1971, 1973, 1974
  • Bobby Orr - 1970
  • Wayne Gretzky - 1981, 1982, 1983, 1987
  • Mario Lemieux - 1989
  • Daniel Sedin - 2011
  • Patrick Kane - 2016
  • Connor McDavid - 2021
