Some people claim that there's a woman to blame...
It's close but Crosby is/was more complete and I'd take a healthy 2011 Crosby as my captain over current McDavid going into the playoffs.

Let's see what McDavid can do in a normal season next year (hopefully.)
I'm sure he'll still be great but will it be back to his 110-115pt pace or will be closer to this 150+ pace?
This "argument" has no basis in reality. If anyone is feasting on weak opposition its the best East teams.
It shows that the uh, east division is the division feasting on weak teams.Uh, posting stats from the exclusively Canadian team division - whatever they are - cannot possibly demonstrate how good the Canadian division is relative to other divisions.

You absolutely cannot use last years standings as a surefire way to determine the best teams this year. Lots of movement happens every offseason. Completely flawed method. It absolutely doesn't.
The competitions in the divisions are utterly isolated from each other. There is no basis of comparison based on stats from this season. No matter how bad a team was, it would require a decent team to beat up on them. Whatever that shows about a division is a net zero.
We do have a rational basis for comparison though, and that's the results of last season:
The East had the 1,5,6,7, 11, 18, 25, and 26th best teams. Four top 10 NHL teams. 5 teams out of 8 in the East were superior to the very best Canadian team.
The best Canadian team was 12th. followed by 13, 17, 19, 20, 24, 30. Zero top 10 teams.
The East's goal differential last season was plus 90. Canada's was minus 23.

It’s to the point where it’s almost disappointing when he only gets 2 pts.104 in 55 games. He gets 2 points in his sleep now.

What he's done this year is remarkable but it's basically in a 7 team league.
Can he do it again against Vegas, Colorado, Carolina, Boston, etc? Remains to be seen.
He's certainly capable.
