Johansson had a pretty underwhelming year in the AHL (especially given his hype on this board) and Elmer showed some flashes at the NHL level.

Couldn’t tell you why Johansson is getting votes over Elmer.

Cross Hanas was making more of an impact in Grand Rapids than Johansson was until he got hurt. And he won’t get any votes in these polls, already know that.
I just cannot wait for Hanas to get a shot in middle or top 6. Would love to see it in the NHL as I don't/can't watch ahl games.

There was a lot of praise for Johansson coming out of GR this year, I'm not sure I would call his season underwhelming at all. Maybe production wise, but thats not really his calling card anyways. I would say his season was pretty much what was expected for right around this ranking but not really gonna argue against Soderblom either. Soderbloms offense in GR should make you wonder if Johanssons could be higher toot hough. In his time with Detroit he was as productive as he was in GR. Weird how he didnt produce more when he went down.

Hanas actually turned himself into a prety solid prospect this year, and was also more impactful than Soderblom as well down there. I dont think Hanas should be voted in here quite yet, but I dont think we're far off of voting for him at this point
I would say offense is for sure Johansson’s calling card. I don’t think at his size he is going to be a 2 way or defensive specialist.

And the lack of points is mostly because I don’t think the first half or so of the season he wasn’t getting a lot of minutes. Could be wrong on that. Seems like he didn’t really have a good sized role til the end of the year then the points came in at a decent clip.

I don’t agree with people that think he could be on Detroit’s opening roster next year. I think he needs more time to keep developing and get stronger. Would be really really surprised if Detroit felt differently. I think they would go with a player like Haag over him 10 out of 10 times (to most on here’s dismay).

Soderblom didn’t produce that well in Grand Rapids, but he scored some goals in the NHL and showed some offensive ability. I have a lot less concern about him being a regular in the NHL with his frame and he’s already shown us something at that level.

Was pretty impactful in the AHL for a 20/21 year old who “can’t skate”. Not that easy to do. He’s 6’1 and has some skill. We will see.
Like I said, he's good for the AHL level. His skating is passable there. It is not close to NHL-level, like a large number of AHLers.

The whole Grand Rapids team was underwhelming under Simon. If Johansson doesn’t improve more in a new system I’ll walk back my statement.

Performs well in Juniors

"just a good Juniors player"

Performs well in the A

"just a good AHL level player"

Yeah, I see the trend here.

My vote is for Soderblom. He's got huge upside if he rounds out his game. Albert is close though.

Add Viro.

Soderblom lost some of his luster for me after the hype died down and I watched him with GR. He should have stood out at the AHL level (aside from his size) and he just didnt to me. Aljo, while not putting up a bunch of points was just always so solid whenever I watched. Things funneled through Edvinsson, but it felt like Johansson was leaned on for D when it was needed. That was my reasoning for voting for Aljo here, next would be Soda for me.

i went with buchinikov, if his development goes right, he has panarin potential.

Im a big fan of Johansson's skating, but i see him as a 4 or 5. He's so scrawny and he doesnt have top notch vision that allows him to take full advantage of his skating prowess.

Lombardi's 3C or a middle 6 winger. I have concerns over his physique if he can make the adjustment to the pro game he's an extremely exciting player.

Soderblom's either a middle 6 winger or hes out of the league and I dont care how big a player if he cant keep up with the pace of play, i have some concerns.

Ope, except my take has always been, “not much NHL upside due to poor skating.” Don’t really care if he’s in junior, the A, Europe, or a beer league scoring 100 goals. If you were putting a bubble hockey team together, he might be a top-3 prospect for Detroit.

You’re just trolling, with that spelling.
Quite possibly. GF was teasing me about my propensity to use jersey numbers to remember various numbers. Like hotel rooms, addresses, etc... And was quizzing me on old Wing numbers. I couldn't for the life of me remember LFG's number. Wasn't bothered by that....
